for the loved ones, you will make it

My CS Journey02/01/202665 views

A start of a journey here, and no, not just another "an update" but a more meaningful personal milestone I wanted to share and hopefully, it will inspire many to keep believing in themselves and keep pushing, even when it seems there’s no end in sight.

I grew up in a rural environment with my mother suffering from a chronic disease after my birth due to some complications. I always had the guilt that I was the one for all her sufferings and was a disappointment. As the only child, I did everything possible be it make food, buy medicines as well as being in constant touch with the doctors while managing my studies at the same time. It was hard. It was really hard. I knew it was my everything as my mother is everything to me. There were times, where it felt like, will I be able to achieve something in life? But seeing her constant unconditional love and support to everything even from a hospital bed, I overcame hurdles that otherwise would not have been possible.

Three years ago, I had to take gap years after finishing high school as I needed to be with her in the hospital for some serious treatments. I was at a point where a higher education did not seem a reality. Fast forward to a year ago, the international foundation at world class King's College London came in to help me achieve my dreams.

I could not be more proud to share that I have successfully completed the year with a 84% and I have started my BSc in Computer Science with a year in industry at the same. To add on that, I am also proud to share that I have been selected as a Peer mentor leader for Computer Science and Mathematics where I will be teaching, mentoring and guiding students towards their future goals.

So if you think "I cannot do it, there is no end to it", YOU CAN and YOU WILL.
